BENEFIT OF VACCINE

Image
BENEFIT OF VACCINE Although experts are still learning a lot about the COVID-19 vaccines, there are some clear benefits to getting vaccinated. If you’ve already received the vaccine, great job! Share these facts with others who might be hesitant. If you’re unsure whether the vaccine is right for you, consider these four benefits the vaccine could provide you and your loved ones. The vaccine reduces your risk of infection. Once you receive your first shot, your body begins producing antibodies to the coronavirus. These antibodies help your immune system fight the virus if you happen to be exposed, so it reduces your chance of getting the disease. There are three vaccines authorized for use in the United States, and they are all more than 70% effective in preventing infection.  It’s true that you can still become infected after being vaccinated, but once more of the population is vaccinated, those chances are further reduced thanks to something called herd immunity. So,...

COVID-19 vaccine

COVID-19 vaccine accines There are more  vaccine candidates simultaneously in the pipeline  for COVID-19 than ever before for an infectious disease. All of them are trying to achieve the same thing – immunity to the virus, and some might also be able to stop transmission. They do so by stimulating an immune response to an antigen, a molecule found on the virus. In the case of COVID-19, the antigen is typically the characteristic spike protein found on the surface of the virus, which it normally uses to help it invade human cells. THE FOUR MAIN TYPES OF COVID-19 VACCINE There are four categories of vaccines in clinical trials:  WHOLE VIRUS ,  PROTEIN SUBUNIT ,  VIRAL VECTOR  and  NUCLEIC ACID (RNA AND DNA) . Some of them try to smuggle the antigen into the body, others use the body’s own cells to make the viral antigen. WHOLE VIRUS Many conventional vaccines use whole viruses to trigger an immune response. There are two main approaches. Live attenuate...
